Installation, Maintenance & Best Practices

Installation Steps

1. Clean the Heated Bed: Remove any previous magnetic sticker or adhesive residue. Wipe down the bare bed with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and a fresh paper towel.
2. Surface Preparation: Scuff the metal print bed uniformly using 220-grit sandpaper to remove surface contaminants and improve adhesion. If the bed is painted, lightly break through the paint layer.
3. Final Wipe: Clean thoroughly with >90% IPA and fresh paper towels until no residue or dust remains on the paper towel. Allow the surface to dry completely.
4. Application & Curing: Carefully align and apply the magnetic sheet, pressing firmly across the entire surface to eliminate air bubbles. Allow the 3M adhesive to cure for a full 72 hours before heating or printing.

Post-Installation Setup

Once the adhesive curing period is complete, re-level your print bed (automatic or manual) and recalibrate your Z-offset to account for the added thickness. Refer to Wham Bam's Bed Leveling Guide for step-by-step assistance.
