Installation, Maintenance & Best Practices

Proper surface preparation and curing time are crucial to ensure a permanent bond.

Step-by-Step Installation

1. Clean the Heated Bed: Remove any previous magnet or adhesive residue completely using Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and a fresh paper towel.
2. Rough Up the Surface: Lightly sand the metal build surface using 220-grit sandpaper to create a uniform texture for optimal adhesion. If the surface is painted, attempt to partially break through the paint layer.
3. Final Degreasing: Wipe down the surface multiple times with 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol and clean paper towels until no dirt or residue appears on the towel. Avoid using shop rags or towels that contain oils.
4. Apply the Base: Ensure the bed is completely dry, then peel back the 3M liner and carefully align and press the magnetic base firmly onto the surface.
5. Cure Time: Allow the 3M adhesive to cure for a full 72 hours prior to heating or using the bed.

Post-Installation Bed Leveling
