Setup, Maintenance & Best Practices

Note: A magnetic base or bed clips are required to secure the Flexi Plate to your heated bed.

Initial Setup & Leveling

After installing the plate, perform a bed leveling routine. Ensure proper nozzle offset ("squish") for optimal first-layer adhesion. Refer to Wham Bam's Bed Leveling Guide for step-by-step guidance.

Cleaning & Maintenance

• Daily Cleaning: Wipe down the surface before and after prints using Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and a fresh paper towel. Avoid using acetone, as it will permanently damage the PEI coating.
• Removing Small Residue: Use a steel spatula with rounded corners to carefully lift stuck purge lines or small skirt pieces.
• Deep Cleaning: If adhesion degrades over time, wash the plate with warm water and common dish soap or vinegar to break down oils. To revitalize the surface, lightly sand with 600-grit wet/dry sandpaper, then wipe thoroughly with IPA.

Filaments & Adhesives

Works exceptionally well with standard materials such as PLA, TPU, PETG, and ABS. For more demanding filaments like Nylon, apply a suitable adhesive (such as purple glue stick or Magigoo) for extra hold and easy post-print cleanup.
