Note: A magnetic base or bed clips are required on your printer bed to use this Flexi Plate.
Initial Preparation (PEX Prep)
Before your first print, scuff the PEX surface in circular motions for 4–5 minutes using 000 steel wool or a red Composite Abrasive Pad (CAP 7447) until an even satin-matte finish is achieved. Clean thoroughly with >90% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) using fresh paper towels. Do not use shop rags, microfiber, or cloth towels.
Leveling & Z-Offset
Perform an automatic or manual bed leveling routine after installation. Adjust your Z-offset to ensure the first layer receives adequate squish without dragging into the surface. See Wham Bam's Bed Leveling Guide for detailed instructions.
Printing & Filament Tips
Temperature Settings: Keep hot-end temperatures for the first 3 layers on the lower end of the recommended filament spool range to prevent thermal damage to the PEX layer.
Barrier Layers (PETG & ASA): Filaments like PETG and ASA bond strongly to PEX. Always apply a glue stick as a release agent/barrier layer prior to printing these materials. Refer to the Wham Bam PEX Compatibility Chart.
Part Removal: Always allow the build plate and print to cool completely before flexing. Never force prints off while warm.
