Setup, Maintenance & Best Practices
Note: A magnetic base or bed clips are required to secure the Flexi Plate to your heated bed. Carbon fiber is electrically conductive and acts as a magnetic shield; this plate is designed for single-sided use only.
Initial Surface Preparation & Cleaning
Wipe the surface down thoroughly using >90% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and clean paper towels. Avoid using microfiber towels or shop rags. Alternatively, wash with strong dish soap and warm water to remove oils.
Bed Leveling & Thermal Guidelines
Re-level your bed after installation. For touch/tap bed leveling systems, keep nozzle temperatures under 140°C during probing to prevent surface marking. Keep first-layer hot-end temperatures at or below 270°C. For optimal bed adhesion, preheat the bed (50–70°C for standard filaments) for ~5 minutes prior to starting prints.
Part Removal & Adhesives
Allow the plate to cool completely before flexing gently to release prints. Use adhesion promoters like Vision Miner Nano Polymer, Glue Stick, or Magigoo when printing warping-prone materials such as ABS or Nylon in an enclosure.
