E3D High Flow ObXidian Hotend for Bambu Lab X1 and P1 Series
E3D High Flow ObXidian Hotend for Bambu Lab X1 and P1 Series
Supercharge your Bambu Lab 3D printer with the Officially Licensed E3D High Flow ObXidian Hotend. Developed as a premium collaboration between E3D and Bambu Lab, this drop-in upgrade delivers exceptional volumetric speed, elite structural hardness, and material versatility, all while maintaining the ultra-compact, lightweight footprint of your original machine.
By blending E3D's legendary high-flow internal architecture with rugged ObXidian wear-protection, this hotend unlocks your machine's full kinematic potential, handling abrasive engineering filaments cleanly at maximum production speeds.
Up to 60% Volumetric Flow Boost
Bambu Lab X1 and P1 series machines are built for blistering speeds, but the stock melt zone often limits how fast plastic can be delivered. This hotend removes that performance bottleneck entirely:
- Internal Geometry Modification: Utilizing an optimized high-flow internal design, this assembly boosts your maximum volumetric flow rate by up to 60%.
- Unleash Speed Limitations: Achieve highly consistent and reliable extrusion at stock speeds, or confidently raise your slicer's volumetric flow limit to maximize your machine's rapid motion system.
Smooth, Non-Stick ObXidian Architecture
Abrasive composite filaments will rapidly erode standard brass or steel hotends. The ObXidian hotend actively resists wear while keeping your toolhead completely clean:
- Abrasive Resistance: Engineered to easily withstand rigid carbon fiber, glass fiber, glitter-filled, and glow-in-the-dark filaments without losing dimensional accuracy at the tip.
- E3DLC™ Coating: Coated with a state-of-the-art Diamond-Like Carbon layer that provides a slick, low-surface-energy shield. This non-stick characteristic prevents sticky materials like PETG from building up on the nozzle tip, limiting plastic blobs and cosmetic print defects.
Zero-Compromise Drop-In Form Factor
Upgrading your printer does not require complicated re-engineering or customized firmware adjustments:
- Stock Compatibility: Machined to match the exact dimensions and form factor of your stock Bambu Lab hotend. You simply reuse your factory temperature sensor and heater pads.
- No Physical Modifications: Fits directly into your original toolhead carriage with no structural alterations needed for your cooling fan ducts, mounting brackets, or levelling sensors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you perform a cold pull on this hotend?
Yes. The robust ObXidian coating is built to handle the physical mechanical stress of a cold pull. However, due to the modified high-flow internal geometry, pulling the filament might require slightly more effort compared to standard straight-bore nozzles.
Are there any specific filament restrictions?
This upgrade easily processes standard filaments, fiber-filled materials, glitter, and glow-in-the-dark lines. Extremely heavy metal or ceramic-filled composites can be used for short production runs, but prolonged continuous use under industrial conditions may eventually exhibit wear.
Do I need to perform a PID tune after installation?
No calibration is necessary. You do not need to modify firmware or execute a PID tune when upgrading to this hotend.
Is this hotend compatible with E3D Revo nozzles?
No. Because this unit is precisely engineered to preserve the original Bambu Lab factory form factor, it does not support the screw-in Revo nozzle ecosystem.
