The Magic of Co-Extrusion Tech

Unlike standard gradient filaments that shift color slowly from the top to the bottom of your model, co-extruded filaments display both tones simultaneously across every single layer path. As your printer moves along the X and Y axes, the orientation of the two-tone strand shifts in relation to the walls of your model. The final result is a breathtaking, dichroic effect where your model appears dark gray from one angle and shimmering light silver-gray from another, perfectly masking layer lines in the process.

Important Application & Structural Notes

Please Note: While Silk PLA yields magnificent aesthetic finishes, the additives that give it its signature high shine make it slightly more brittle than standard, unreinforced PLA. Because of this, it is highly recommended for decorative models, figurines, sleek vases, and display items. It is not recommended for mechanical structural prints or 3D-printed cookie cutters.

General Printing & Optimization Guidelines

• Nozzle/Extruder Temperature: 200°C – 225°C (Printing toward the higher end of this range often maximizes the signature metallic, silky surface gloss).
• Heated Bed Temperature: 50°C – 60°C
• Part Cooling Fan: ON / High Speed (Crucial for sharp detail resolution, clean overhang paths, and bridging stability).
