Cookiecad - Mermaid Tri-Color Gradient PETG Filament (1.75mm, 1kg)
Cookiecad - Mermaid Tri-Color Gradient PETG Filament (1.75mm, 1kg)
Bring the mesmerizing beauty of a deep-sea fantasy to your high-strength 3D prints. Cookiecad Mermaid PETG brings our legendary, magically shifting color palette to a heavy-duty material tier. This premium specialty transition spool cycles gracefully through three stunning oceanic shades—deep emerald green, brilliant coastal teal, and rich royal purple—before transitioning smoothly back again, bathing your structural models in a brilliant, high-gloss spectrum.
Master Your Mermaid PETG Gradients
Because the color shift occurs gradually across the length of the strand, you can use your slicing configuration to control exactly how this aquatic gradient reveals itself on your models:
- Small Objects: Will print in a single, rich glossy tone—allowing you to harvest completely different looking colored parts out of different sections of the exact same roll.
- Large Objects: Will showcase a beautiful, seamless color cycle transitioning elegantly through the emerald, teal, and purple spectrum.
- Pro-Tip for Dynamic Fades: Want to capture the full Mermaid spectrum on smaller decorative items? Try printing multiple models simultaneously on your build plate, scaling up your object size, or increasing your infill density to pull more filament through the nozzle within a single layer height.
The Performance Advantage of Cookiecad PETG
While our PLA line is celebrated for unmatched aesthetic prototyping, upgrading to Cookiecad PETG introduces a whole new level of environmental and mechanical endurance:
- Enhanced Structural Strength: Offers superior impact resistance, excellent tensile strength, and exceptional layer-to-layer fusion, making it perfect for functional parts that need to hold up under stress.
- High Thermal Stability: Boasts a significantly higher heat deflection temperature than standard PLA, ensuring your models won't warp, droop, or lose structural integrity when exposed to warm environments, direct sunlight, or outdoor display conditions.
- High-Gloss Surface Finish: Naturally cures to an inherently smooth, high-sheen glossy finish that amplifies the depth of the ocean tones while naturally breaking up light paths to camouflage layer lines.
General Printing & Optimization Guidelines
Note: PETG possesses different material properties than PLA and requires distinct slicer adjustments for successful extrusion:
- Nozzle/Extruder Temperature: 230°C – 250°C (PETG requires higher melting points; ensure your hotend can safely sustain these profiles).
- Heated Bed Temperature: 70°C – 80°C (Highly recommended. For aggressive adhesion surfaces like bare glass or PEI, deploying a release agent such as a glue stick or specialized bed adhesive is strongly advised to prevent bed damage).
- Part Cooling Fan: OFF or LOW Speed (0% – 30% max is recommended; limiting fan speeds allows the layers to fuse slowly, maximizing the structural strength and impact resistance of the PETG matrix).
