Advanced Print & Processing Guidelines
Due to its high crystalline nature and high melting point, ThermaX PEEK requires specialized industrial-grade 3D printer hardware:
- Extruder/Nozzle Temperature: 360°C – 400°C
- Heated Bed Temperature: 130°C – 140°C
- Enclosure/Chamber Temperature: A fully isolated actively heated chamber set to 70°C – 140°C is required to handle crystallization rates and eliminate layer splitting.
- Nozzle Requirements: An abrasion-resistant hardened steel or ruby tipped structural nozzle is highly recommended.
- Material Drying: Highly critical before use. Dry the spool in a high-temperature forced air oven or material dryer at 120°C for at least 4 hours prior to printing.
